That\u2019s why they\u2019re a go-to weeknight dinner at the home of one of our favorite Mexican-food cocinera abuelas <a href=\"https:\/\/familiakitchen.com\/author\/anjie-vilalobos\/\">Anjie Villalobos<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These tacos de camaron are also an easy favorite for <a href=\"https:\/\/familiakitchen.com\/vegetarian-recipes-everyone-will-love-for-lent\/\">Lent<\/a> Fridays, if you\u2019re looking for meatless recipe inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Plus, shrimp tacos are one of those meals that make people happy (unless someone has a seafood allergy, like one of her daughters,&#8221; says Anjie, joking, &#8220;it&#8217;s a travesty.&#8221;). Otherwise, you\u2019re good to go, she promises: &#8220;Everybody loves shrimp tacos.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Best of all: these tacos come together quickly. In just about 30 minutes, dinner is on the table. &#8220;It\u2019s easy, it\u2019s fast, it\u2019s healthy and it\u2019s delicious. I make these at least once a week.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"video\">WATCH how Anjie makes her family-famous videos!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you don&#8217;t have all the garnishes on hand, no problem, she adds. These tacos are endlessly adaptable. \u201dMy shrimp tacos recipe varies from day to day, depending on what I have in the fridge.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key to their deliciousness: mucho ajo. &#8220;Oh, yeah,&#8221; Anjie smiles. &#8220;Garlic is key. I use lots and lots of garlic in these. I also do half butter, half olive oil. That\u2019s something I do a lot in my cooking. I used to use one or the other, but I found that it really adds a nice flavor when you mix them. Using the half-and-half combination makes the shrimp absolutely delicious\u2014with lots and lots of garlic, of course!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you have the extra 15 minutes, she recommends serving them on homemade corn tortillas (see Anjie\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/familiakitchen.com\/how-to-make-corn-tortillas\/\">step-by-step corn tortillas how-to, here<\/a>). \u201dTraditionally, they are served on corn, but I know plenty of people who like their shrimp tacos with flour tortillas. Stir.<\/li><li id=\"wpzoom-rcb-direction-step-16326622530331824\" class=\"direction-step\">Add the shrimp and let them sizzle until fully cooked and the garlic has caramelized.<\/li><li id=\"wpzoom-rcb-direction-step-16326633985644131\" class=\"direction-step\">Turn down the stove-top heat.
