Here is a recipe for margarita pie, which is delish! I\u2019ve been making this a long time, since my best friend Denise introduced me to it over 25 years ago. I savored every bite and had to have the recipe. She is my bestie and the godmother of my youngest son Phil.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t make margarita pie very often, but I love it when I do, because it reminds me of the first time I made it for my dad\u2014who loved tequila<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Dad loved the pie so much, but thought it was too weak. It needed more tequila \u201ckick\u201d he said. \u201cPonle m\u00e1s, dale m\u00e1s gas,\u201d he told us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, he had my mom make it for him again and had her add extra tequila (a lot of extra tequila). Well, when Mom put it into the freezer, it had so much alcohol, it didn\u2019t get solid, like it should have. It was more like a smoothie (un licuado)! My Dad put it in a glass and drank it all down, just like that.  He said, \u201cNow, that\u2019s a pie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a drink!\u201d I told him, \u201cIt\u2019s a desert!\u201d But that\u2019s how Dad liked it and always had to have it, bien chistoso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We laughed about it for so many years after that day. Dad loved sweets and he loved his tequila. Whenever I make it or on the rare times I drink a tequila, I know my Dad is in heaven, looking down at me, smiling and saying, \u201cThat\u2019s my baby girl.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1 1\/4<\/span> oz<\/span> tequila blanco<\/span><\/p><\/li>

      1 1\/4<\/span> oz<\/span> triple sec<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • <\/span>

      3 1\/2<\/span> oz<\/span> lime juice<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • <\/span>

      10<\/span> oz<\/span> whipping cream<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • <\/span>

      2 to 3<\/span> drops<\/span> green food coloring<\/span><\/p><\/li>

    • <\/span>

      1<\/span> graham-cracker pie shell<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t

      Directions<\/h3>\n\t\t\t
      • In a bowl, add the condensed milk, lime juice, tequila and triple sec. With a mixer, beat at medium speed for 3 minutes. <\/li>
      • Turn speed to low and fold in whipping cream. <\/li>
      • Add the green food coloring and beat until all the streaks disappear. <\/li>
      • Pour into the pie shell. Place in your freezer for a least 8 hours. <\/li>
      • Serve frozen or slightly frozen for best-tasting results. It\u2019s a great dessert. \ud83d\ude0a<\/li><\/ul>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\t
