One of these lucky top finalists who have been preserving Latino abuela-cooking traditions will “take home” the grand prize. The 4 finalist family recipes are:

- Nata’s Pork Pozole Rojo — Mexico
- Ana’s Ropa Vieja With Muchos Spices and Red Wine — Cuba
- Lisa’s Flan: My Panamanian Flancito — Panama

How the Contests Work
Since FamiliaKitchen.com was launched in 2020, every month the website celebrates a traditional dish from one of the 20 Spanish-speaking Latino destinations. The site invites all of its followers to submit their favorite family recipes for each “Your Family’s Favorite Recipe Contest.” The recipe submissions pour in each month—and the top 4 are posted for voting by all Familia Kitchen visitors. The recipes that receive the most votes become the winning “favorite recipe contest winner of the month.”
“This is Familia Kitchen’s first-ever grand prize contest in 2022. The end of the year is when we know which four recipes surfaced to the top with the most votes from our passionate audience. Voting for the 4 finalists began January 1, 2022, and Familia Kitchen’s Grand Prize winner will be announced January 28, 2022. A popular media outlet, to be announced, will have the exclusive honor of revealing which recipe submitter goes “home”—on January 28, 2022.
