We love a classic margarita here at Familia Kitchen, so por favor trust us: this is a guaranteed-great recipe for a traditional and easy-to-make margarita from our favorite Catadora, MariCarmen Ortíz Conway.

MariCarmen is a globally renowned tequila expert. And we mean expert, as in certified Tequila Expert,™ a certification from the Cultura y Capacitación del Tequila, A.C. She is also an official Catadora or “taster,” among other certifications.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz 2 lime juice, fresh squeezed

  • 2 oz 2 premium 100% blue agave tequila

  • 2 oz 2 simple syrup or agave syrup

  • 1/3 cup 1/3 ice

  • margarita salt, for rimming glasses

Directions

  • Pour the lime, tequila and syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add ice.
  • Shake, shake, shake!
  • Serve in glasses rimmed with margarita salt. Garnish with a lime, if you wish.
  • SALUD!!

Notes

  • You are using the SAME amounts of lime, tequila and syrup. So you can easily scale up or down.
